More Max Factor Fantasy Fire!

I couldn't resist - after the other day I fell in love with Max Factor Fantasy Fire all over again. It's still very much a layering/topcoat type of polish of course, but it's just so beautiful. I know it's old news, but I don't care...

This is over two coats of Barry M Indigo, which is pretty much perfect to show it off. Basecoat and topcoat are Nails Inc - Kensington Caviar and Albert Bridge.

What do you think? Are you still captivated by Fantasy Fire?

Max Factor Fantasy Fire over Barry M Navy

Bit of the lovely Fantasy Fire tonight...I forget how awesome it is every time!

The Barry M Navy is a firm favourite too, it's just so shiny! I sponged Fantasy Fire just on the tips, and it looks great when it catches the light.

This is two coats of Barry M Navy, two sponged layers of Fantasy Fire, and Seche Vite topcoat (which I have had enough of...the shrinkage is getting to me) Basecoat today was Nails Inc.

Are you a fan of Max Factor Fantasy Fire?

Thanks for reading!

All kinds of pink! Nails Inc, Models Own and a cosmetic sponge...

Here are today's nails! An bit of an experiment, I haven't done this often:

Started with just one nail in case I didn't like it...

With Essie Matte About You

Tried it out in matte

I make such a mess when I'm doing my nails...

Shine time!

L-R: Nails Inc Beaumont Street, Max Factor Disco Pink, Models Own Pastel Pink, Nails Inc Pall Mall, Seche Vite

I did these nails by painting the basecoat - Models Own Pastel Pink - and then using a small piece of cosmetic sponge to sponge gradually darker colours towards the tip. I mixed the colours together to get the in between stages too, that was what I used Nails Inc Pall Mall for. I gave one hand a coat of Essie Matte About You to see what it was like, but I preferred it shiny in the end.

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat (I still must get a new bottle!! Keep forgetting)
  • Nails Inc Beaumont Street
  • Max Factor Disco Pink
  • Models Own Pastel Pink
  • Nails Inc Pall Mall
  • Seche Vite
  • Cosmetic sponge for sponging and blending

I quite like the results. What do you think?

Max Factor Fantasy Fire, Revlon Stunning, Nails Inc Blenheim Terrace

Here are tonight's nails! I didn't feel like stamping or art but glitter always makes me feel better. This is kinda layered, and it's different in every light, so you get a few pictures! I wish I could show how it really looks. My husband suggested I take a video and "wangle it about" (nope, no clue either!) but that doesn't even work...

Awful picture, but see how different the colour looks?!

    What I used:
    • Nails Inc Kensington Caviar basecoat
    • Nails Inc Blenheim Terrace (1 coat)
    • Max Factor Fantasy Fire (3 coats)
    • Revlon Stunning (1 coat)

I love the Revlon Stunning glitter, I bought it on a whim a few days ago because I don't have any chunky glitters. It's really quite holographic in real life, so many different colours show as it catches the light - in the bottle it looks like plain silver glitter so this was a nice surprise.

Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Dazzling Blue - lots of pictures!

Here is tonight's manicure...before I start, can I suggest that those of you who love 'mermaid' nails get your bums down to the nearest Max Factor counter? Because this is the mermaidiest of mermaidy polishes! I love Max Factor Max Effect minis...

Attack of the Oompa Loompa hand!

    What I used:

    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
    • Barry M White polish (2 coats)
    • Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Dazzling Blue (3 coats)
    • Seche Vite topcoat

Now, I know five coats is a lot of coats...but I like full opacity, and this looks so nice! I even decided not to Konad it!

What's even better is that I used the £3 off voucher I got from Max Factor when I spent more than £12 on the brand in Boots. That made this polish that staggering sum of 99p!

Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Graffiti

Here are tonight's nails! I didn't feel much like stamping so I went with a new colour instead - Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Graffiti. This is from the same range as Fantasy Fire, and it's lovely:

As always, this is the sort of polish where I can't get a photo that shows all the lovely colours - it reminds me of a mermaid's tail in the light! It's not as sheer as Fantasy Fire either, I used three coats here with no base colour first.

    What I used:

    • Nails Inc Kensington Caviar basecoat
    • Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Graffiti (3 coats)
    • Seche Vite topcoat

Max Factor Fantasy Fire - Oh no, I did it again!

I went to meet my husband from work today as it was my day off. I decided to have a look in Boots because I wanted to buy the Barry M Croc Effect polish. Which I did. But...

They had three bottles of Fantasy Fire...just sitting there staring at me. And what's this? If you spend £12 on Max Factor you get a gift including 2 Max Factor Mini Nail polishes? Sold! So, as you can imagine, there is definitely a Fantasy Fire in my giveaway! (which is happening as soon as my Internet is connected on Thursday)

    Here's what I bought:

    * Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Fantasy Fire x3
    * Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Graffiti
    * Barry M Croc Effect in black

    And I received free:

    * Max Factor Max Effect in Intense Plum
    * Max Factor Nailfinity in Disco Pink
    * Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara mini
    * Max Factor mini black Kohl pencil

Quite the haul. I'm glad it's payday. Just can't wait for Thursday now!

Max Factor Fantasy Fire - Amazing.

So, when Liloo posted a brilliantly tempting blog about Max Factor Max Effect Fantasy Fire over on her blog here: Le Petit Jardin de Liloo, I was immediately smitten and made it my mission to get my hands on this little beauty of a polish. Today, I did. She was right.

Today is my husband's birthday, but he's still great enough to hunt down nail polish with me. We initially went into Boots, who have the Max Factor mini polishes on 3 for 2, they had some beautiful colours, but alas, no Fantasy Fire. So off we went to Superdrug...and they had it! I'm not ashamed to say I bought all three bottles straight off the shelf. Much.

    Here it is:

    Can't. Look. Away.

A tiny hint of all the colours this holds

It's a mini bottle, I just have tiny hands

    What I used:
    • Nails Inc Kensington Caviar basecoat
    • Nails Inc Basil Street (1 coat)
    • Max Factor Max Effect in Fantasy Fire (about 5 coats!!)
    • Seche Vite topcoat

Now, I'm willing to say, there are a few downsides with this gorgeous polish. I'm just going to give you a rundown of what I see to be the good and the bad.
    • It's unbelievably sheer. As you can see, I layered it over a coat of nude polish just to get started, and still used 4-5 coats and it's still more sheer than I'd like.
    • The bottle is tiny, and when you're using this much it won't last long. It's £3.99.
    • The brush is tiny, obviously, and hard to paint with.
    But:
    • Just look at it. It's literally jumped straight into my top 5 favourite polishes of all time.
    • The colour reminds me of Dairy Milk chocolate wrappers...
    • It's wonderfully shiny.
    • Again, just look. In all honesty, it's a million times nicer in real life. My crappy iPhone photography skills won't let me capture the shades of red, gold, green, blue, purple...

I think I'm in love. Thank you Liloo.
