Barry M Mint Green, Navy, Racing Green

Hello everyone! I've been slacking at writing here! Nothing stops me from painting my nails though, so here are the last couple of days:

First up is Barry M Navy. What a colour! I had so many compliments on this one while I was at work!

Barry M Navy (2 coats, Seche Vite topcoat)

The next one is Barry M Racing Green. Another lovely one. I really do love Barry M, they're so good. Such good quality too.

Finally, we have Barry M Mint Green with a bit of leopard Konad! It was a Barry M kinda week! I really do love them...

Oh and lastly, here's one of the very good things that I did this week - got a visit from my sister and her family! This is me, and my beautiful niece Keeley (complete with whiskers!)...

That's all for now! Out of curiosity, what's your favourite Barry M colour?

Barry M Aqua Glitter and Bourjois Rainbow Apparition

A couple of spangly manicures to show you tonight!

First up is Barry M Aqua Glitter:

I layered the glitter over two coats of Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream here, mainly because I don't like using about 5 coats of glitter. It's a really lovely bright shiny colour. The only downside is that I got quite a bit of shrinkage, which is annoying because it really is pretty.

The next pictures are of Bourjois Rainbow Apparition (best name!) over two coats of Barry M Berry Ice Cream. This glitter is also packed with holo pieces which sadly don't show up in the pictures! This one is really lovely and I didn't see any shrinkage. The only downside to this one is the brush, which is supposed to be wide and flat, which I suppose might be nice to paint with if you have big nails beds, but my nails are really small and it means that I have to be so careful not to just make a mess. I don't like to have to clean up after I paint my nails and I don't normally have to, but this brush is tricky.

Daylight shot!

For both of these manicures I used Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat and Seche Vite topcoat. The Barry M glitter soaked up two layers of Seche Vite to be smooth, and the Bourjois glitter only needed one.

I'm still wearing the Bourjois glitter now, it's lovely. I'm not going to pretend it was easy removing the Barry M one though...the foil came out!

Nails Inc Old Park Lane

Here is another one of the polishes I got in my most recent Nails Inc Lucky Dip - it's an unusual and rather lovely one...

This is Nails Inc Old Park Lane. It's a metallic polish, and though it's hard to show in photographs, it almost looks like pale copper in the sun. Very metallic and lovely. It does have the downside of not wearing very well, but since I paint my nails at least every two days, I guess that's fine.

In the pictures, I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Nails Inc Old Park Street (2 coats - though one is maybe enough!)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

What do you think? I'm loving every single one of my Lucky Dip colours!

Nails Inc Culross Street and Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream with Models Own Indian Ocean

A couple more manis to show you, I've had yet another busy week. Another week, another Jack Savoretti concert...how I love him. Ahem, anyway...

The top pictures are Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream under Models Own Indian Ocean. I love this combo, it's hard to take a picture but in the sunshine it absolutely glows. So here's what I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream (2 coats)
  • Models Own Indian Ocean (2 coats)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

The bottom picture is Nails Inc Culross Street, one of the polishes I got in my recent lucky dip. It was so hard to paint with, really thick and...painty. It looks quite nice though! What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Nails Inc Culross Street (2 coats)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

You can probably also see that I've shortened my nails a little bit, they grow so fast now!

Barry M Berry Ice Cream and Nails Inc Villiers Street

Got a couple of days worth of nails to show you tonight! Been busy for the last few days but I'm back!

The top two pictures are Barry M Berry Ice Cream with yellow Konad Q1 and the bottom pictures are Nails Inc Villiers Street, which I've shown you before. I love it, such a bright, comic book red.

I used Seche Vite topcoat as always!

What do you think? I think I need more new polishes...

Nails Inc Westminster

Tonight I tried Nails Inc Westminster from my Lucky Dip - it's lovely:

It's a purple creme, and this was perfect in two coats, very typical of a Nails Inc polish. I think it would look great with some Konad, but I'm too lazy tonight.

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Nails Inc Westminster (2 coats)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

I really like it. Still looking forward to trying the other four polishes from this amazing Lucky Dip.

Nails Inc Chalk Farm!

Tonight's nails are another manicure with one of my favourite colours - I need some new polishes!

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Nails Inc Chalk Farm (2 coats)
  • Konad Special Pink Polish and plate M59
  • Seche Vite topcoat (Wahooo! I have new Seche!!)

As well as getting new Seche Vite, I also got a bottle of Seche Restore - I've got two old bottles of Seche that have gone thick - you know, I don't think I ever get to use the last third because of this. I used about 10 drops of the Restore on one of them, and rolled the bottle for a while, and it seems to have brought it back! Good stuff. I'll let you know when I try it out.

My monthly leopard mani! Exposed in Mystic with silver Konad!

I think I mentioned before, I have leopard nails at least once a month (or so it seems!) and these are tonight's...

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Exposed in Mystic (2 coats)
  • Konad M57 and Special Silver Polish
  • Nails Inc Albert Bridge topcoat

I love this purple, it's my favourite, it just doesn't show up on photos!

What do you think? Oooh, and I'm currently waiting for a Nails Inc Lucky Dip to arrive...pictures soon!

Nails Inc Piccadilly Circus

Tonight's manicure was an easy one...I have a horrid cold but couldn't leave my nails in their chipped state...

This is Nails Inc Piccadilly Circus, and it's lovely! The camera can't quite capture how nice it is. It's very hard to paint with though, it's such a thick creme that it's easy to make a mistake!

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Nails Inc Piccadilly Circus (2 coats is perfect!)
  • Nails Inc Albert Bridge topcoat (made this manicure bubble horrendously in places, meaning I had to redo two nails...this prompted me to hurry to www.beautybay.com and buy two new bottles of Seche Vite and some Seche Restore!)

What do you think? I'm off to suffer my plague in bed with my Kindle...

My first China Glaze - Hook and Line

Tonight I tried China Glaze for the very first time! This came in my May Jolie Box and I was happy to receive it! It's a gunmetal type of colour, and I liked it straight away in the bottle...

It went on as this metallic sort of polish usually does - with brushstrokes! I like it though, it's nice and shiny, and on the right side of silver.

To brighten things up a bit, and because I had plain nails the day before, I decided to add another untried polish - Laval in Glitter Dazzle. This is a chunky holo glitter with large and small hex pieces, and it goes well with Hook and Line! The large hex pieces almost look like water droplets on the nail.

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • China Glaze Hook and Line (2 coats)
  • Laval Glitter Dazzle
  • Nails Inc Albert Bridge topcoat (I miss my Seche Vite!!!)

What do you think? Do you own any China Glaze polishes?

Barry M Berry Ice Cream

Well, I showed you Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, here's Berry Ice Cream!

I think I've pointed out how much I love Barry M...

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle Basecoat
  • Barry M Berry Ice Cream (3 coats)
  • Nails Inc Albert Bridge topcoat

I badly need a new bottle of Seche Vite!! That's all for today, just a quick post!

Barry M Pink Flamingo

I officially love Barry M Pink Flamingo...just a quick picture...

Barry M is easily one of my favourite brands, they have an amazing range and the polishes are far better quality than the price suggests...

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Barry M Pink Flamingo
  • Konad Special Black polish and plate M28
  • Nails Inc Albert Bridge topcoat

What do you think? What's your favourite Barry M?

Exposed Grey and Models Own Pinky Brown

I've got two manicures to show you tonight, because I went to a wedding all day yesterday and didn't have a chance to blog the nails that I did for it!

So, the first is the wedding nails! I wore a pale grey cardigan type thing over my dress, and thought this polish went pretty well:

     What I used:
    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
    • Exposed Unnamed Grey (2 coats)
    • Nails Inc Culford Gardens sponged
    • Seche Vite topcoat

It's a grey version of the pink nails I did recently (HERE) and I quite liked it.

Next, the nails I just did tonight, this is one of my untried polishes, Models Own Pinky Brown, from the Beetle Juice collection. It's not as horribly sheer as Indian Ocean, but it still took three coats to get it to this, and it's still a bit more see through than I would like. It's a lovely colour though, very duochrome and really quite pretty. As usual though, it's very hard to photograph.

You can see both brown and pink here

    What I used:
    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
    • Models Own Pinky Brown (3 coats)
    • Seche Vite topcoat

     What do you think?

    Barry M Spring Green

Here's the other Barry M colour that I bought recently...Well. Sort of. This is an absolutely lovely, grassy green, true to it's name. But it hates the camera! I cannot get a true colour to show in a photo. I fail!

See how different the colour is here?!

I love it regardless, it's so nice to paint with too, as Barry M tends to be. I probably could have used 2 coats but three was just a tiny bit smoother looking.

    What I used:
    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
    • Barry M Spring Green (3 coats)
    • Seche Vite topcoat

Are you tempted by Barry M polish yet?

    Exposed in Rock Chick

In between pole practice and work, I wanted to try another of my new Exposed polishes tonight - and I'm glad I picked this one! It's lovely, though I have got a soft spot for purple polish...

     Erm...excuse my messy desk.

Bit blurry to show the sparkle

Because this is such a lovely colour, I decided to be sensible and layer it so I didn't waste any! So, this is layered over a very similar tone of purple, a Boots No7 colour.

    What I used:
    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
    • Boots No7 Vivid Violet (2 coats)
    • Exposed in Rock Chick (2 coats)
    • Seche Vite topcoat

I couldn't decide whether to add more glitter (of another colour) to this, but in the end I've left it alone...maybe tomorrow...

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Spring Green

Here are today's nails! I went to town with my husband and ended up getting two new Barry M polishes. After sending over some nail mail to the lovely Frosso over at www.lacquermesilly.com I decided I had to have Blueberry Ice Cream for myself! I got Spring Green because I don't have another green like it!

Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Spring Green

I used Blueberry Ice Cream first. One of the things I really love about Barry M is that they are a great formula for a bargain price (£2.99!). If you're careful they go on so smoothly, and they generally only need two coats. I decided to Konad this one just to brighten things up a bit, though I love it enough to wear on it's own.

    What I used:
    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
    • Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream (2 coats)
    • Konad Special Blue Polish
    • Konad M57 Zebra
    • Seche Vite topcoat

I love Konad blue, it's so easy to stamp with as it stays quite liquid, unlike some of the others which dry insanely fast and go patchy.

What do you think? Are you a Barry M fan?

Exposed in VIP, more Exposed polishes!

Today I decided I had to get more polishes! You know, when you just want some new colours?! Well, I got these:

Nails Inc for InStyle, Exposed in Rock Chick, Barefoot, VIP

This is Exposed in 'VIP'. It's very hard to show the true colour here. I would consider this to be a pink jelly, it's quite sheer. It's much pinker than in these pictures, but I just can't get it to show. There are three coats here. The gold is just random blobs I did with a dotting tool to liven it up.

    What I used:
    • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
    • Exposed VIP (3 coats)
    • Nails Inc Culford Gardens for dots
    • Seche Vite topcoat

I love Exposed polishes, so I'm looking forward to trying the other colours! What do you think?

Ooh, also, my poledancing pole is being delivered on Tuesday...so excited!
