Nails Inc Old Compton Street, Bundlemonster BM20

Bit of Konad tonight. I used Nails Inc Old Compton Street from my Lucky Dip. It's lovely to paint with, really smooth.

What I used:

* Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
* Nails Inc Old Compton Street (2 coats)
* BM20 plate
* Konad special stamping polish in blue
* Seche Vite topcoat

I'm quite pleased with it, the blue polish really stands out in real life.

What do you think? Oh, and just before I forget, I'm having real trouble replying to comments on my iPhone but I read and appreciate every one and will get back to replying when I'm on my computer!

Max Factor Fantasy Fire - Oh no, I did it again!

I went to meet my husband from work today as it was my day off. I decided to have a look in Boots because I wanted to buy the Barry M Croc Effect polish. Which I did. But...

They had three bottles of Fantasy Fire...just sitting there staring at me. And what's this? If you spend £12 on Max Factor you get a gift including 2 Max Factor Mini Nail polishes? Sold! So, as you can imagine, there is definitely a Fantasy Fire in my giveaway! (which is happening as soon as my Internet is connected on Thursday)

Here's what I bought:

* Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Fantasy Fire x3
* Max Factor Max Effect Mini in Graffiti
* Barry M Croc Effect in black

And I received free:

* Max Factor Max Effect in Intense Plum
* Max Factor Nailfinity in Disco Pink
* Max Factor Masterpiece Max mascara mini
* Max Factor mini black Kohl pencil

Quite the haul. I'm glad it's payday. Just can't wait for Thursday now!

Nails Inc Lucky Dip

I was lucky enough to be able to buy another Nails Inc Lucky Dip from the website (http://www.nailsinc.com) a few days ago, so thought I'd post on what I received today!

In the very cute polka dot box I received:

* Elizabeth St Caviar - a pale, nude cream colour.
* Percy Street - a lilac pastel type colour.
* Beaumont Street - almost hot pink, I love this one.
* Old Compton Street - pale, kind of sky blue.
* Heddon Street - this looks like red/purple crushed velvet, I can't wait to try it!
* Earlham Street - another velvety looking brown.
* Kensington Caviar basecoat.

All in all I'm really happy with this lucky dip. I'm most excited about Heddon Street. I will be doing my best to swatch all of the colours over the next few days...I have some Konad ideas developing as we speak! Which is your favourite?

Nails Inc Victoria and Albert

Another iPhone post! We're hoping to have Internet back on Thursday.

Last night we went to see Rammstein at the O2 Arena. It was absolutely amazing and I'm kind of sad that it's over! It was the second time I've seen them and maybe even better than last time. Ooh and we stayed at the Radisson Edwardian opposite the O2 (thanks to LateRooms) as a late birthday present for Mr.

Before we went I just quickly painted my nails a nice classic red to go with the navy coat I was wearing.

I promise I'll get back to some lovely nail art very soon...I also have lots of gorgeous new polishes to swatch for you.

What I used:

* Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
* Nails Inc Victoria and Albert (2 coats)
* Seche Vite topcoat

Simple, classic red. What do you think?

Models Own Golden Green

We have no Internet connection right now, since we moved into our new house yesterday - I'm typing this on my iPhone from my new nail room! (Our box room, which I have stolen for my beauty product madness) So, we'll see how this blog post turns out!

Tonight I kept it simple again.

What I used:

* Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
* Models Own Golden Green (two coats)
* Seche Vite topcoat

I can't format this blog post correctly, so if it looks odd, don't worry! I'll be back up and running hopefully by next week!

Max Factor Fantasy Fire - Amazing.

So, when Liloo posted a brilliantly tempting blog about Max Factor Max Effect Fantasy Fire over on her blog here: Le Petit Jardin de Liloo, I was immediately smitten and made it my mission to get my hands on this little beauty of a polish. Today, I did. She was right.

Today is my husband's birthday, but he's still great enough to hunt down nail polish with me. We initially went into Boots, who have the Max Factor mini polishes on 3 for 2, they had some beautiful colours, but alas, no Fantasy Fire. So off we went to Superdrug...and they had it! I'm not ashamed to say I bought all three bottles straight off the shelf. Much.

Here it is:

Can't. Look. Away.

A tiny hint of all the colours this holds

It's a mini bottle, I just have tiny hands

What I used:
  • Nails Inc Kensington Caviar basecoat
  • Nails Inc Basil Street (1 coat)
  • Max Factor Max Effect in Fantasy Fire (about 5 coats!!)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

Now, I'm willing to say, there are a few downsides with this gorgeous polish. I'm just going to give you a rundown of what I see to be the good and the bad.
  • It's unbelievably sheer. As you can see, I layered it over a coat of nude polish just to get started, and still used 4-5 coats and it's still more sheer than I'd like.
  • The bottle is tiny, and when you're using this much it won't last long. It's £3.99.
  • The brush is tiny, obviously, and hard to paint with.
But:
  • Just look at it. It's literally jumped straight into my top 5 favourite polishes of all time.
  • The colour reminds me of Dairy Milk chocolate wrappers...
  • It's wonderfully shiny.
  • Again, just look. In all honesty, it's a million times nicer in real life. My crappy iPhone photography skills won't let me capture the shades of red, gold, green, blue, purple...

I think I'm in love. Thank you Liloo.

Boots 17 Magnetized Polish in Green

Just making the most of the Internet we have for a few more days before we move. However, since I'll be moving boxes for the next couple of days, I haven't gone for anything elaborate on my nails tonight.

I found this Boots 17 Magnetized in my collection, and since I haven't tried this colour yet I thought I'd give it a go!

One coat of 17 Magnetized

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Boots 17 Magnetized Polish in Green (two coats)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

For a polish that is a really very reasonable price (£5.99 and it's currently on 3 for 2 at Boots!) it goes on beautifully. I also like the brush a lot. It's just wide and flat enough for smooth application.

Hopefully I won't destroy my nails too much whilst moving! This is shaping up to be a very good week...I have a brand new niece, Honey, who was born last night, it's my husband's birthday tomorrow, we move to our new house on Tuesday, and on Friday we are staying in a posh hotel and seeing Rammstein again!! Oh, and we have nine days off work! So excited! I feel very lucky.

Polka Konad! Boots No7 Betty Blues Konad M79

Tonight's nails are Polka Dot! I used a dark blue polish - Boots No7 Betty Blues, though it looks black in pictures it's a midnight blue. I love polka dots!

This is Betty Blues, though it looks black here!

Here's what I used:

  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Boots No7 Betty Blues (two coats)
  • Konad M79 Polka Dots
  • Konad Special White polish (I'm running out, argh!)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

I've got into the habit of watching a film from my LOVEFiLM package (sign up with my referral here) while I paint my nails recently, it's been great. Tonight's film was 'An Education'. I really liked it. Carey Mulligan is so sweet. If only I could be so chic...

What do you think?

EDIT: Also, I forgot to mention - my husband and I are moving house on Tuesday! I absolutely can't wait...but it means that we might not have broadband for a few days...I'll be back blogging as soon as I can!

Nails Inc Tate

I had one of those evenings where whatever I did to my nails looked awful, you know? So, I give you...classic red. I love this colour. I'd never tried it before and I found it in the 'Red' drawer of my Helmer. It goes on very smoothly. I needed three coats though, which I thought was bit odd. I think it looks nicest in the brighter light photos...

Nails Inc Tate

Totally different in bright light!

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle
  • Nails Inc Tate (3 coats)
  • Seche Vite topcoat

So, plain nails tonight. We're moving house in a few days and I'm too tired to do more!

Jessica Cosmetics Hologram Nail Art with Boots No7 Sing The Blues

For tonight's nails, I tried something I've not done before!

Boots No7 Sing The Blues

Boots No7 Sing The Blues with Jessica Cosmetics Disco Diva

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Boots No7 Sing The Blues (2 coats)
  • Jessica Cosmetics Hologram Duo in Disco Diva (3 coats)
  • Seche Vite before the holo coat
  • Sticky tape to mask off the nail!
I started with the blue basecoat, and topcoat, then when it was completely dry (I mean do something else for at least 30 minutes dry) I masked off the line with sticky tape. Just clear, plain old sellotape. I painted three coats of the holo polish with not a lot of time between coats and then peeled off the tape carefully as soon as I could.

Don't use a topcoat as it will wreck the holo effect! It's also important to peel off the tape as soon as you can. That's it. I'd like to try more complicated designs once I've got the hang of this method.

What do you think?

Oh and one more thing - do these nails remind anyone else of Red Bull? No? Just me then...

Nails Inc Aspen, Konad M3

Tonight's nails are pretty simple. I love this Nails Inc colour, it's so pretty in the light.

Nails Inc Aspen (2 coats)

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Nails Inc Aspen (two coats)
  • Konad Special white polish
  • Konad M3
  • Seche Vite topcoat.

I was really pleased to see today that my Facebook page has almost reached 100 followers! I have 20 followers here on my blog too. I can't believe it, I imagined that I would be blogging into the ether, to be honest. So thank you to everyone that is following me here or there, or over on my Twitter. I am thinking about doing a thank you giveaway very soon, so keep an eye out for that!

Nail Pop Vintage Buzzing Bee!

Today I decided to do something a bit fun on my nails...

I started off with two coats of Nail Pop Vintage. I like this colour and it's quite nice to work with. I then drew on the flight of the bumblebee (geddit?) with the black Wah Nails pen. These can be quite tricky to draw with, as the nib is so sharp. Be careful not to gouge your polish. Then I drew on the bee outline and filled it in with Konad yellow polish, the white Wah Nails pen for the wings, and the black for his stripes. The whole lot was finished with a healthy coat of Seche Vite to smooth it all out.

Mr Bee on Nail Pop Vintage (2 coats)

Sunshine! (It's -10 degrees outside!)

Models Own Wah Nails Nail Art Pens

My rarely seen right hand!

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Nail Pop in Vintage (2 coats)
  • Konad Special Yellow polish (for Mr Bee!)
  • Models Own Wah Nails Nail Art Pens in white and black
  • Seche Vite topcoat (lots of it!)
I had fun doing this one. I really need to practice this sort of thing more.

Nails Inc Burlington Arcade, Nail Pop Pearl Effect

Tonight's nails! I just had a little time this evening, so no stamping, but I tried out a colour I haven't worn before, and I love it! This is Nails Inc's Burlington Arcade:

Nails Inc Burlington Arcade (two coats)

As you can see from the last pictures, once I had painted my nails, I just couldn't leave well alone and added one coat of Nail Pop Pearl Effect, a lovely blue toned flaky topcoat. You should know by now that I can't leave a polish bare!

What I used:
  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Nails Inc Burlington Arcade mini (two coats)
  • Nail Pop Pearl Effect topcoat
  • Seche Vite topcoat

Should I learn to leave my polishes alone?

Jessica Cosmetics Hologram Duo with Nail Pop Catsuit - Frosty Nails!

Here is the manicure I did today! A couple of lovely people over on my Facebook page She Paints Her Nails suggested that I do snowflake nails to match the weather, but I have quite recently had snowflake nails, so I had a think and decided to do frosty nails instead!

I'll apologise now for the picture heavy post, I couldn't choose just a few...

Jessica Cosmetics Hologram Duo with Nail Pop Catsuit tips!

A peep of snow topped surroundings...

What I used:

  • Sally Hansen Nailgrowth Miracle basecoat
  • Jessica Cosmetics Hologram Duo in Retro Revival base
  • Jessica Cosmetics Hologram Duo in Disco Diva (3 coats)
  • Nail Pop in Catsuit (sponged on tips)
  • Seche Vite topcoat on tips

What do you think? I think they go nicely with this snowy weather. I can't wait for all those lovely summer manicures I can create, though...
