On it's own, I could barely even get a picture that showed it...
THREE coats |
FOUR coats - it appears whitish with a greeny tinge |
Here it is over a coat of Nails Inc Elizabeth Street (a pale cream):
With more coats than I cared to count |
Layered over Nails Inc Chalk Farm |
Layered - that's more like it! |
I'm a little sad about this. On it's own, there is very little blue colour that I can see. I wanted this to be as beautiful as it is in the bottle by itself. There's no denying that it's a pretty topcoat, and it's a lovely layer on top of another polish, but I really hoped it would pay off alone. I feel like I've used half a bottle already!
So, definitely a layering polish! I'm still excited to try Copper Pot and Tropical Sun, as they are thicker polishes (I had a peep) so we'll see how they go.
What do you think? Will you purchase Indian Ocean?
Oh no, I was so excited about this. Very very desceptive pictures they had then! x
ReplyDeleteI think it's gorgeous over other colours...but I was just so hoping for a nice opaque paint! x
DeleteWow I love Indian Ocean over the nails inc chalk farm, might have to add that to the wishlist, great pictures :)
ReplyDeleteThank you :) I do really like the colour, just wish it were thicker!
DeleteOh no :( I haaaaate it when a polish turns out being so thin you can't wear it on its own. At least there's hope for the rest of the collection!
ReplyDelete'with more coats than I cared to count' --> omg, still can't believe the disappointment. they need to make a new formula and call in 'indian ocean concentrate' and refund you for this. This should have definitely been stated in the product description and called it a topcoat or layering polish. I am upset boo :(

Such a shame! The bottle looks amazing... I hate it when that happens! Oh well, I suppose the layering makes it more versatile.. But still! I particularly love it over Chalk Farm though, it looks AMAZING! xxx
ReplyDeleteI like it best over Chalk Farm!!
ReplyDeleteIndian Ocean worked really well over CG Electric Beat. Unfortunately Tropical sun is another 'more coats than I care to remember'.
ReplyDeleteI just posted my NOTD using this. I agree! I used 4 coats and it was still way to sheer. It looks okey on it's on but I will probably only layer it in the future too since it takes way too long to do 4 coats..x
